Job Description

Lyon County Utilities is currently accepting applications for the full-time position of Wastewater Systems Technician I located in Dayton, Nevada. This entry level position performs a variety of skilled technical duties and semi-skilled labor in the operation, maintenance, and repair of the County's wastewater collection, treatment and reuse systems.
Requirements:
Basic understanding or experience related to the operation or maintenance of equipment associated with a wastewater system. Must be available to be in the standby rotation for after hour's emergency calls and have a 30 minute of less response time to Dayton Valley Road. Must be able to obtain a Nevada Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator Grade 1 certification within 12 months of employment. Must have a valid driver's license and obtain a NV Class A driver's license within 12 months of employment. This is a safety sensitive position subject to pre-employment and random drug and alcohol testing. Salary Range

SUMMARY OF JOB PURPOSE
Responsible for performing a variety of technical duties to support and ensure proper operation of the County's wastewater functions, including collections, treatment and reuse; performs duties relating to the operation, maintenance, and repair of other utilities systems as necessary.
