Job Description
Wastewater Operator Trainee Responsibilities Responsibilities include operating / maintaining two wastewater treatment plants, collection system, and nine satellite pump stations. The individual will cross trained to perform a variety of tasks to ensure proper operation and maintenance of the treatment plant, pump stations and collection system which include:
- Monitoring critical equipment and performing preventative maintenance on equipment as directed by Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's), O &M manuals and instructions from the Superintendent.
- Collecting samples and performing laboratory analyses following SOP's as required by the NPDES permit discharge limitations and other needed process control samples.
- Performing process control adjustments as directed by SOP's and/or instructions from the Superintendent.
- Operating the belt filter press and make adjustments following SOP's.
- Operating sewer jetting equipment to clean lines and televise lines.
- Performing wet weather studies and lateral repair inspections.
