In this position, you will be responsible for operating and monitoring wastewater treatment equipment, ensuring compliance with environmental standards, and supporting the overall efficiency of plant operations. We are looking for motivated individuals eager to develop their skills in water treatment processes, equipment operation, and plant maintenance. Responsibilities Collect and analyze data related to water quality, flow rates, chemical levels, and system performance. Perform lab duties including specimen collection, testing, logging results and troubleshooting when necessary. Maintain accurate records of operations, maintenance activities, and data collection logs for compliance purposes. Conduct routine inspections and perform equipment repairs to ensure optimal plant performance. Manage equipment operations including tanks, pumps, mixers, and other machinery essential for wastewater treatment. Perform preventive maintenance tasks on mechanical systems, plumbing, and electrical components to minimize downtime. Handle tasks safely while maintaining a clean and organized work environment. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and work in physically demanding environments. Must have the ability to reach, squat, bend, walk, climb steps, and lift 50 pounds, and other similar activities requiring physical exertion including but not limited to climbing ladders, climbing up and down manholes and working at various heights. Must be able to work in all types of weather. Experience Prior experience working with wastewater treatment or water treatment facilities is preferred but not required; training will be provided. Mechanical knowledge including equipment repair, plumbing skills, electrical, and basic math proficiency is highly valued. Strong analysis skills to interpret data from control systems and identify operational issues quickly. Must have some experience in Microsoft Word and Excel. Basic understanding of programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and distributed control systems (DCS) is advantageous. Attention to detail combined with proactive problem-solving abilities to ensure continuous plant operation.
