Job Summary:

Performs a variety of unskilled and semi-skilled technical and maintenance work in the operation, maintenance, repair, and laboratory analysis of City Wastewater treatment facilities, pump stations, tanks, and systems under direct supervision of Wastewater Plant Supervisor. This is an in-person position that is not eligible for regular remote work.

Minimum Education for all levels:

High School Diploma or equivalent. Experience and Training (Operator A): Must possess valid Colorado Driver's License. Valid Colorado CDL Class B with air brake and tanker endorsements. Must be 18 years of age to obtain CDL. Must possess Colorado Wastewater Class A certification. Must be able to pass a background check, MVR, DOT physical and drug and alcohol testing with results that are acceptable to the City of Rifle. Ability to work on call, rotating shifts, some nights, weekends, and holidays. Must maintain all licenses. Work Experience in Positions Similar or Related to

This Job:

Minimum of four years of related experience in wastewater plant operations; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above. The wage range for Operator A - $32.20 to $35.50 hourly depending on experience and qualifications. Experience and Training (Operator B): Must possess valid Colorado Driver's License. Valid Colorado CDL Class B with air brake and tanker endorsements. Must be 18 years of age to obtain CDL. Must possess Colorado Wastewater Class B certification. Must be able to pass a background check, MVR, DOT physical and drug and alcohol testing with results that are acceptable to the City of Rifle. This Job:

Job Requirements:

Must possess valid Colorado Driver's License, or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire. Valid Colorado CDL Class B with air brake and tanker endorsements, or ability to obtain within six months of hire. Must be 18 years of age to obtain CDL. Must possess Colorado Wastewater Class D certification or ability to obtain one within one year of hire. Must be able to pass a background check, MVR, DOT physical and drug and alcohol testing with results that are acceptable to the City of Rifle. This Job:

Minimum of one year of related experience in plumbing, construction, wastewater plant operations or other similar work experience preferred; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above. The wage range for Operator D - $23.67 to $26.09 hourly depending on experience and qualifications. This a full-time position with benefits including Medical, Dental, Vision, and Life Insurance as well as retirement, vacation, sick and holiday pay.
