Overview We are seeking a dedicated Wastewater Operator to join our team and ensure the efficient operation and maintenance of our wastewater treatment facilities. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing daily treatment processes, maintaining equipment, and ensuring compliance with environmental standards. Responsibilities Operate and monitor wastewater treatment equipment to ensure proper processing of wastewater in accordance with regulatory standards. Perform routine equipment maintenance and repairs to maintain optimal functionality of pumps, valves, and other mechanical systems. Conduct mechanical inspections and troubleshoot issues related to wastewater treatment plant machinery. Manage pump operations, including starting, stopping, and adjusting equipment as needed for continuous plant operation. Maintain accurate records of operational activities, chemical usage, and maintenance work. Follow safety protocols and environmental regulations to ensure a safe working environment for all staff. Assist in troubleshooting mechanical problems using mechanical knowledge and math skills to determine solutions. Support the overall efficiency of the wastewater treatment process through proactive maintenance and operational adjustments. Skills Proven experience in wastewater treatment plant operations is highly preferred. Strong mechanical knowledge related to wastewater treatment equipment and systems. Ability to perform equipment repair and routine maintenance tasks effectively. Proficiency in pump operation and understanding of fluid dynamics within treatment processes. Good math skills for calculations related to chemical dosing, flow rates, and process adjustments. Attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to troubleshoot mechanical issues efficiently. Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment while adhering to safety standards.
