Work is conducted on-site at customer locations. What's in it for you: Trane is hiring a Water Treatment Technician Team Leader to join our organization in Austin, TX. In this role, you will be responsible for supervising Field Technicians who perform start-up, commissioning, and servicing of water treatment equipment.
What you will do:
Responsible for detailed end to end water chemistry testing, starting up, commissioning, and servicing water treatment equipment on assigned projects. Represents the company by serving as the direct customer contact and is responsible for servicing systems and equipment on assigned projects, ensuring customer satisfaction by utilizing your skills to keep the water and equipment clean and within industry standards at customer's location. Coordinates with Area Service Manager and customer to precisely understand requirements for the water treatment program's success. Uses technology, along with a variety of hand-tools, following blueprints or engineering specifications, to diagnose and correct the problem. Coordinates with Area Service Manager and customer to precisely understand requirements for all on-site installation and repairs by forecasting issues, gathering materials and synchronizing on-site work. Represents the company by serving as the direct customer contact and is responsible for products and equipment on assigned projects, ensuring customer satisfaction by identifying, diagnosing and repairing equipment and systems at customer's location. Uses cutting edge software and technology, along with a variety of hand-tools, following blueprints or engineering specifications, to diagnose and repair units. Displays team effort and dedication to customers by maintaining flexibility to work overtime and weekends as the business requires, including occasional overnight stays. Continually enforces safety to the highest standards and maintains security and accountability of company issued and procured assets by recording use, wear and conditions.
What you will bring:
Associate's degree from a two-year college or technical school with a certificate in Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred. Minimum five (5) years' experience in HVAC. A working knowledge of basic chemistry principles and the ability to determine subtle color changes in water samples during testing is required. Plumbing skills; PVC, some copper and black iron installation is preferred. Operating knowledge of Microsoft office software and working proficiency with handheld computer (i.e. Smartphone, iPad). Must possess a valid driver's license for a minimum of 12 months, with no major or frequent traffic violations including, but not limited to: DUI, Hit & Run, License Suspension, Reckless / Careless Driving or multiple smaller infractions or preventable collisions in the previous 3 years.
