Job Description

Position Overview Under close supervision, performs the day-to-day duties associated with the operation of a water distribution, water or wastewater facility. Has limited working knowledge of required procedures, equipment and operating standards and is able to resolve minor routine problems. Reports to the Facility Operations Supervisor and requires guidance on performing assigned task.
Essential Job Functions Water Distribution System:
  • Perform dead end and monthly schedule routine flushing.
Water Treatment System:
  • Assist operators at assigned facilities when minimum certification is achieved.
Wastewater Treatment Plant:
Assist operators at assigned facilities with routine cleaning and process control when proper certification is achieved. Other duties as required. Education and Experience Requirements High school diploma or GED with 0 to 1 year of related experience or equivalent combination of education and/or experience in maintenance or construction Electrical, plumbing and/or HVAC training and/or experience, similar trades useful General facility maintenance training Valid driver's license and good driving record People Skills Other Skills/Abilities
  • Mechanical Aptitude
  • Ability to communicate with supervisor and customers
  • Willing to work all shifts including: weekends, holidays, evenings, and 24-hour emergency on call
  • Physical strength and agility sufficient to do strenuous tasks under varying weather conditions
  • Subject to exposure to dust, fumes, vibration, noise and dirty working conditions
Work Environment:
Tasks involve the intermittent performance of physically demanding work, typically involving some combination of reaching, bending, stooping, kneeling, or crouching, and that may involve the lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling of moderately heavy objects and materials (20-50 pounds)

$18.00 - $21.00 per hour
