Job Description Summary This position is responsible for the overall supervision, operation, and maintenance of the Water/Wastewater department by performing the following duties. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Reports directly to the W/WW Superintendent as the supervisor of multiple crews performing duties related to the operation, maintenance, and repair of the public water/wastewater systems including but not limited to sewer repair, sewer cleaning, internal inspection, inflow & infiltration reduction, water distribution, water repair, and backflow/cross connection. Supervises all W/WW employees overseeing the completion of all assigned tasks as communicated. Assigns and dispatches crews as necessary for the completion of such tasks. Monitors budget expenditures. Prepares monthly purchasing card statements for submission. Works with contractors to setup large wastewater or water projects and oversee their completion as needed. Reviews work orders. Prepares state regulated and division reports as required. Resolves and addresses citizen complaints regarding water & wastewater operations. Foreman II - Waste Water Page 2 of 5 Responsible for the preparation and submission of biweekly payroll documentation for completion. Trains staff on all areas of W/WW operations including the proper use of equipment and tools, Safety Program policies and procedures, Personnel policies and procedures, as well as
OSHA & TCEQ
guidelines. Supervisory Responsibilities Directly supervises employees in the Water/Wastewater. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Education and/or Experience One year certificate from college or technical school; or related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
