full-time Position Summary A leading heavy civil contractor is seeking an experienced Wastewater Treatment Plant Superintendent to oversee field operations on a major wastewater treatment plant project in the San Marcos area. This individual will lead daily construction activities, coordinate subcontractors and field personnel, and ensure work is delivered safely, on schedule, and to the highest quality standards. Direct WWTP construction experience is required. Responsibilities Lead all field operations on wastewater treatment plant construction projects. Manage subcontractors, vendors, inspectors, and self-perform crews. Coordinate structural concrete, process structures, underground utilities, process piping, mechanical systems, and site work activities. Ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with plans and specifications. Maintain project schedules through look-ahead planning and proactive coordination. Monitor manpower, equipment, and material needs to support production goals. Conduct safety meetings, toolbox talks, and pre-task planning activities. Coordinate inspections and ensure compliance with quality standards and contract requirements. Complete daily reports, production tracking, and project documentation. Collaborate closely with project management to identify and resolve field issues. Qualifications 7+ years of construction experience with at least 3 years serving as a Superintendent on wastewater treatment plant projects. Direct wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) construction experience is mandatory. Strong understanding of treatment plant construction, including structural concrete, process piping, mechanical equipment installation, underground utilities, and civil sitework. Proven ability to manage subcontractors, suppliers, and field personnel on complex infrastructure projects. Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and construction schedules. Experience with Procore, Primavera P6, HeavyJob, or similar construction management software is preferred. Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Demonstrated commitment to safety, quality, and project execution.
