The Sanitation Supervisor is responsible for coordinating and monitoring sanitation programs, processes, and systems within the plant to ensure compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements. This role involves leading sanitation staff during assigned shifts, partnering with safety, production, and quality teams, and supporting initiatives that maintain a clean and safe manufacturing environment. The position requires strong attention to detail, effective communication, and a commitment to food safety and sanitation excellence. Key Responsibilities Support the implementation and maintenance of the Plant's Master Sanitation Program, processes, and systems. Supervise all sanitation/cleaning activities in the plant, including weekend shifts as needed, ensuring employee safety. Train and direct sanitation staff; provide coaching, scheduling support, and input on performance. Collaborate with Production and Quality teams to address customer and regulatory concerns. Assist in preparing the plant for customer and regulatory inspections. Promote sanitation and safety best practices throughout the plant. Participate in root cause analysis and problem-solving efforts related to sanitation issues. Conduct routine inspections of cleaning activities during and after sanitation shifts. Assist operations with identifying and troubleshooting sanitation deficiencies. Maintain sanitation-related documents, forms, and logs as assigned. Support the relationship with outside Pest Control vendors and maintain required logbooks. Perform monthly zone inspections to identify sanitation improvement opportunities. Monitor inventory of cleaning equipment and supplies; report low quantities and needed items. Ensure SDS for new chemicals are on file and approved by the safety department. Verify proper PPE usage in compliance with SDS requirements. Report all safety concerns to the Safety Manager immediately. Escalate any issues that may impact food safety or product quality to QA. Participate in safety incident investigations as needed. Perform other duties as assigned to support plant operations. About You Minimum 3 years of sanitation experience, with at least 1-2 years in a leadership or lead-worker role. Experience in a food manufacturing environment; comfort working in meat processing and packaging is preferred. Working knowledge of GHS Standards. Strong understanding of industrial cleaning and food safety practices. High attention to detail, strong work ethic, teamwork, and effective communication skills. Ability to lift 40 lbs repeatedly and stand for the majority of the shift. Proficiency in MS Office Suite. Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional weekends. Experience with Kronos preferred. Bilingual in Spanish highly desired.
