Job Description

Job Overview Join our dynamic team as a Wastewater OIT -Operator Level 4, where you'll play a vital role in maintaining the efficiency and safety of our water treatment and wastewater management systems. This energetic position offers the opportunity to work outdoors, operate heavy equipment, and ensure environmental compliance through hands-on management of treatment processes. You will be responsible for monitoring, controlling, and troubleshooting complex systems related to water and wastewater treatment, contributing directly to environmental sustainability and community health. This paid position is ideal for individuals passionate about engineering, environmental protection, and operational excellence. Responsibilities Operate and monitor water treatment and wastewater treatment systems to ensure optimal performance and compliance with environmental regulations. Manage pipeline operations, including inspection, maintenance, and troubleshooting of piping systems using piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs). Conduct routine equipment maintenance on pumps, valves, boilers, gas turbines, and power generation systems to prevent downtime. Respond promptly to emergency situations such as system failures or safety hazards with appropriate emergency response procedures. Utilize mechanical knowledge to diagnose issues with electrical systems, piping, instrumentation, and heavy equipment operation. Enforce safety regulations by properly using personal protective equipment (PPE), respiratory protection, and adhering to safety protocols during outdoor work and heavy lifting tasks. Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot engineering problems related to power plant operations or environmental compliance efforts. Experience Proven experience in water treatment or wastewater treatment operations within industrial or municipal settings. Familiarity with power plant systems, including gas turbine generation and boiler operation. Hands-on knowledge of electrical systems, mechanical troubleshooting, and equipment maintenance practices. Experience working outdoors in various weather conditions with heavy lifting and heavy equipment operation. Strong understanding of safety regulations related to hazardous materials, PPE use, respiratory protection, and emergency preparedness. Demonstrated ability to read technical diagrams such as P&IDs and perform engineering troubleshooting effectively. Prior experience in environmental compliance initiatives or oil & gas industry operations is a plus.
