As an Operator-in-Training based in Walla Walla, WA, you'll join a collaborative team performing a variety of tasks in the operation and maintenance of a wastewater treatment plant, including equipment maintenance and quality control testing. You'll contribute to the success of the program through efficient preventive maintenance and effective solutions to challenges that arise in municipal facilities.

Pay:

$20.00- $24.00 per hour

DOE Responsibilities:

Operate treatment facilities to control flow and processing of water/wastewater, sludge, and effluentObserve variations in operating conditions and interpret meter and gauge readingsCollect samples and maintain shift logsPerform preventive maintenance on equipment and conduct quality control testingTake action to ensure the safety, health, and well-being of yourself and your teamPerform other duties as required

Required:

Basic experience operating water/wastewater treatment plantsBasic understanding of computer software, including Microsoft Office Suite, and ability to enter data into a maintenance management systemValid driver's licenseMust pass Fitness for Duty testing to ensure physical and functional fitness for this safety-sensitive positionAbility to perform physical tasks including standing, walking, sitting, stooping, kneeling, squatting, grasping, reaching, and repetitive hand movementsAbility to work in varied environments (indoor/outdoor, loud noise, active machinery, high-pressure fluid systems, electrical equipment, confined spaces, heights/depths, fumes, airborne particles, noxious gases, and chemicals), using appropriate safety equipment

Preferred:
