SWA is actively seeking a Waste Water Operator-in-Training in

Walla Walla, WA Pay Up To:

$24.00/hour

Schedule:

Monday-F / 8:00 am - 4:30 pm (On-call rotation MAY be required)

Consideration Requirements:

Must pass drug screening, background check, and a DMV driving record check Valid Driver's License High School diploma or GED Basic understanding of operating water/wastewater treatment plants Basic understanding of computer software including Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to enter data into a maintenance management system A current or working towards obtaining a first level water/wastewater treatment certification Basic familiarity with the principles and practices of water/wastewater treatment plant operations, valves, pumps, and motors Safe work practices

Responsibilities:

Read and interpret gauges and recording devices reflecting plant operations Perform a variety of skilled and semi-skilled tasks in general construction and maintenance activities Maintain, repair, and adjust wastewater treatment equipment Keep records and make reports Understand and apply basic wastewater mathematics Operate a variety of power-driven equipment Perform heavy manual labor and lift up to 50 pounds Tolerate changes in outside temperatures from winter to summer, and tolerate dust, pollen, wind, and rain Sit or stand for periods of up to four hours in duration Walk on uneven or steep ground
