Seeking an Operator-in-Training to support the operation and maintenance of a wastewater treatment plant, including equipment maintenance and quality control testing.

Pay:

$20.00 - $24.00 per hour

Key Responsibilities:

Operate treatment facilities to control flow and processing of wastewater, sludge, and effluentObserve variations in operating conditions and interpret meter and gauge readingsPerform preventive maintenance on equipmentCollect samples and perform quality control testingMaintain shift logsPerform other duties as required

Required Qualifications:

Basic experience operating water/wastewater treatment plantsSome experience with pumpsBasic understanding of Microsoft Office Suite and ability to enter data into a maintenance management systemValid driver's license

Preferred Qualifications:

Current, or working toward, a first-level water/wastewater treatment certificationBasic familiarity with water/wastewater treatment plant operations, valves, pumps, and motorsSafe work practices

Work Environment:

This is a safety-sensitive position requiring successful completion of Fitness for Duty testing. Physical demands include standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, squatting, grasping, reaching, and repetitive hand movements, along with dexterity, grip strength, and climbing as needed. Work areas may involve indoor/outdoor conditions, loud noise, active machinery, high-pressure fluid systems, electrical equipment, confined spaces, heights and depths, fumes, airborne particles, and chemicals.
