MagTec Alaska, LLC. We are seeking a skilled and motivated Welder/Fabricator to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for fabricating, welding, and assembling metal components to produce high-quality structures and products. Your expertise in various welding techniques, blueprint reading, and metal fabrication will be essential in delivering precise and durable results. Duties Interpret mechanical blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine fabrication requirements Perform welding using FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), MIG (Metal Inert Gas), TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas), and SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding) techniques according to AWS standards Measure and mark metal materials accurately using calipers, micrometers, measuring instruments, and shop math principles Operate fabrication shop equipment such as press brake machines, plasma cutters, and pipe threading tools to shape sheet metal and other metal materials Assemble fabricated components with hand tools and power tools, ensuring alignment with engineering specifications Adhere strictly to safety protocols, including proper handling of welding gases, power tools, and heavy machinery in a manufacturing or fabrication shop setting Maintain detailed records of work performed, inspections conducted, and quality control checks throughout the fabrication process Skills Extensive construction site experience with metal fabrication projects preferred Proficiency in interpreting mechanical blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately Strong knowledge of welding techniques including FCAW, MIG, TIG, SMAW, and gas metal arc welding (GMAW) in accordance with AWS standards Ability to operate measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and other precision tools for accurate fabrication Mechanical knowledge related to pipe threading, ductwork assembly, machining processes, and schematic interpretation Experience working with sheet metal fabrication and understanding of ASME codes & standards for manufacturing quality assurance Familiarity with shop math concepts necessary for precise measurements and calculations in fabrication tasks Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, plasma cutters, press brake machines, and soldering equipment safely and effectively Knowledge of safety protocols specific to welding environments including proper PPE usage and hazard awareness Ability to interpret technical drawings and schematics for complex mechanical assemblies involving metal materials Join our team if you're passionate about craftsmanship and eager to contribute your expertise in a collaborative environment where safety is paramount.
