Job Title:
Structural Welder Job Description This role focuses on welding and fabricating structural steel components in a manufacturing environment using MIG, Flux-Core, and Stick processes. You will work from blueprints and fabrication drawings to produce high-quality, accurate welds while following established safety standards and maintaining an organized work area. Responsibilities Weld structural steel components to meet specified layouts, engineering drawings, work orders, and verbal instructions. Read and interpret blueprints, fabrication drawings, welding symbols, and diagrams to determine work requirements. Perform welding duties using wire welders and stick welders in accordance with
AWS D1.1
standards. Set up work using jigs, fixtures, or hand layouts to fabricate new parts or rework finished products. Assist in the fabrication and welding of multi-component parts and assemblies. Inspect welds for quality, accuracy, and adherence to specifications. Operate welding and fabrication equipment safely, including torches, filler rods, flux, hoses, valves, and gas cylinders. Use measuring tools to verify dimensions and ensure components meet required tolerances. Operate industrial powered fork trucks and various hand tools to support fabrication and welding operations. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area in compliance with welding safety standards. Follow all company safety policies and procedures while contributing to a safe work culture. Essential Skills Previous structural welding experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment. Proficiency with MIG, Flux-Core, and Stick welding processes. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, fabrication drawings, welding symbols, and diagrams. Strong understanding of welding safety standards and safe operation of welding equipment. Must have

certification. Hands-on experience working with structural steel and fabrication fitting. Ability to use measuring tools accurately to verify dimensions and tolerances. Familiarity with welder concepts, practices, and procedures for structural applications. Capability to perform set-up work using jigs, fixtures, or hand layouts. Ability to operate an industrial powered fork truck safely. Proficiency in using a variety of hand tools related to welding and fabrication. Additional Skills & Qualifications AWS certification beyond D1.1 is a plus. Experience working with multi-component welded assemblies. Comfort working from verbal instructions as well as written work orders. Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality welds. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Oxford, AL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $34.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
