Job Description
Graywolf is hiring Plate Welders for Perdue Hill, AL. 10
- day Outage starting 09/13/2026.

A plate welder focuses on joining thick steel plates, often for applications like tanks, vessels, and large structures.Essential Duties:
Welding Safety- work safely around the hazards associated with the construction field. Welding Tools
- use hand, electric, pneumatic and hydraulic tools and in a safe manner. Blue Print Reading
- Correctly reads and understands plans, isometrics, arrangement drawings, details, specifications, erection manuals and/or blue prints and makes competent decisions based on measurable criteria.
- filet and groove welding Set up equipment and weld parts using arc, gas shielded arc, self shielded arc, or gas welding equipment.
Weld Test Details:
½ Thick carbon steel plates. 3 positions 2G, 3G and 4G Welding will be with .045" E71T-1 flux cored wire. Backing plates will not be used ½ Thick carbon steel plates. 2G, 3G and 4G SMAW process E7018 Backing plates will not be used.Qualifications:
At least three (3) years minimum heavy industrial field experience as a Welder using FCAW Flux Core (dual shield welding) on steel plates. Welders who also have experience in TIG upon hiring at site, may be asked to complete further weld testing to weld on Inconel liner. Completion of welding certification(s) required by company and/or client. Must have locking toolbox and tools necessary to perform the job. Must be able to successfully complete all required pre-hire requirements.Physical/Site Requirements:
Lift and carry heavy items weighing up to 45 pounds. Move in and around confined and cluttered places, and uneven areas. Full range of motion and flexibility consistent with age. Work up to a 12-hour shift in varying temperature extremes and other outside conditions. Climb and maintain balance on steel framework, stairs, ladders, and scaffolds. PPE footwear/prescription safety glasses or eye shields required. Graywolf Integrated Construction Company is an equal opportunity employer.
