• Job Title: Level 2 TIG Welder
• Job Description
• This position focuses on precision TIG welding and fabrication in a manufacturing shop environment. You will weld and repair metal components, interpret blueprints and routers, and ensure all parts meet strict customer specifications. The role requires strong technical welding skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work safely and efficiently on a 2nd shift schedule.
• Responsibilities
• + Weld metal parts together using gas welding and a combination of arc welding processes, with a primary focus on TIG welding.

+ Perform related tasks such as thermal cutting and grinding to prepare and finish welded components.

+ Repair broken or cracked parts, fill holes, and increase the size of metal parts as required by job specifications.

+ Position and clamp together components of fabricated metal products in preparation for welding to ensure proper alignment and fit.

+ Perform dimensional and visual inspections of parts to verify adherence to customer requirements and quality standards.

+ Read and interpret routers, blueprints, and sketches to determine dimensional specifications, welding requirements, and operating procedures.

+ Conduct visual inspections of produced parts to confirm they meet customer and internal quality requirements.

+ Perform required preventive maintenance procedures on assigned welding equipment within specified time frames to ensure safe and reliable operation.

+ Use measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers to verify dimensions and tolerances.

+ Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work area.

+ Collaborate with team members and participate in on-the-job training to continuously improve welding and fabrication skills.

+ Operate a forklift as needed to move materials and finished products within the shop.

+ Perform other related duties as assigned.

• Essential Skills
• + High school diploma or GED required; vocational training in welding or fabrication is preferred.

+ 25+ years of demonstrated experience as a Level 2 welder or in a similar TIG welding role.

+ Ability to read and comprehend instructions, routers, and blueprints in English.

+ Strong basic math skills, including the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

+ Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

+ Proficiency in welding specific metals, including Inconel, stainless steel, and aluminum.

+ Ability to weld material thicknesses ranging from 0.032" to 0.090".

+ Hands-on experience with TIG welding and general fabrication in a manufacturing environment.

+ Ability to use measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers accurately.

+ Capability to lift and move up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks such as walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.

+ Ability to safely drive and operate a forklift.

• Additional Skills & Qualifications
• + Vocational or technical training in welding, fabrication, or metalworking is preferred.

+ Experience working in a manufacturing shop environment with moderate noise and exposure to fumes or airborne particles.

+ Comfort with performing thermal cutting and grinding operations.

+ Strong attention to detail and commitment to meeting customer quality requirements.

+ Willingness to participate in continuous on-the-job training to enhance welding and fabrication skills.

+ Ability to perform preventive maintenance on welding equipment according to established schedules.

+ Reliability in working 2nd shift hours (2:00 PM 10:30 PM, Monday through Friday) and flexibility for occasional overtime when available.

• Work Environment
• This role is based in a manufacturing shop on 2nd shift, working from 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM, Monday through Friday.

The physical demands include regularly talking, hearing, using hands to finger, handle, or feel, and frequently reaching with hands and arms, walking, sitting, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. The work environment typically has a moderate noise level and may occasionally involve exposure to fumes, airborne particles, and toxic or caustic chemicals. The environment emphasizes safety, proper use of welding equipment and measuring tools, and continuous training to improve skills related to job duties.

• Pay and Benefits
• The pay range for this position is $52000.00 - $70720.00/yr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
