JOB DESCRIPTION

Reads blueprints to measure, cut, layout, fit, and weld metal components like handrails, guardrails, and stairs into finished products. Essential Functions Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. 1. Met all Layout/Fitter Level II requirements. 2. Ability to correctly identify material for fabrication. 3. A vast understanding of shop drawings. 4. Capable of fitting all structural and miscellaneous steel items including columns, beams, trusses, frames, stairs, rails, and their required joints in an efficient manner with little or no errors. 5. Meet and maintain all requirements for Welder I level. Proficient MIG welding not required. 6. Must be able to correctly piece mark beams, columns, frames, etc. 7. Understanding of proper identification of no paint zones. 8. Understanding of grinding of copes, holes, and bevels. 9. Proficient with oxy torch, ironworkers, grinders, drills, and other small tools. 10. Must sweep and maintain a clean work zone. 11. Needs to report completed/fit work to the QA prior to welding. 12. Report to QA when material is ready for inspection. 13. Check Company equipment daily and if issue is identified, tag equipment with date and shift and then notify supervisor. 14. Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and listen. This position is very active and frequently requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must be able to lift and/or move items over 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position that operates on weekends as required. Travel No travel is expected for this position. Required Education and Experience 1. Minimum 4 years as a certified welder. Minimum 2 years as a layout/fitter or equivalent. Additional Eligibility Qualifications 1. Maintain welding certification in required welding processes. Certificates must be updated at a minimum of every 6 months. GSS can help with updates, but it is the employee's responsibility. 2. Must be able to read GSS welding procedure specifications (WPS). Knowledge of AWS weld symbols and fit-up of weld joints. 4. Physically able to perform the job duties. 5. Able to read welding symbols. Pay:

$27.00 - $35.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
