ABOUT THE ROLE
As an ASME Welder, you will fabricate and weld pressure vessel components used in industrial autoclaves. This hands-on position involves reading mechanical drawings, preparing and cutting materials, and performing FCAW, GMAW, and GTAW welding in accordance with ASME codes and ASC-approved procedures. You will work with various industrial tools and equipment in a heavy manufacturing environment and may travel to customer sites for installation or repair work. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, mechanically inclined, eager to learn, and committed to producing high-quality work as part of a team.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Follow drawings, work instructions, and verbal instructions to build autoclave pressure vessels.
Prepare material for fabrication:
Measure, cut, torch cut, plasma cut, saw, grind, and weld various materials such as steel plate, steel pipe and pipe fitting. Perform pressure vessel welding according to ASME codes FCAW, GMAW, and GTAW, along with ASC's approved ASC2 weld procedure Use industrial machinery and tools to perform job duties including, but not limited to various types of saws, drills, scissor lift, metal roller, drill press, plasma cutter and welding equipment such as MIG welder, Stick welder, TIG welder, hand grinder, carbon arc. Required travel domestic and/or overseas to various customer sites. Expected to demonstrate compatibility with ASC's stated Team Values that include working safely, having a positive attitude, leading by example, showing an eagerness to learn, being a team player, working efficiently, and focusing on producing quality work. Performs all other duties assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
Trade school certificate and minimum 1-year previous work experience as a welder required. Must have advanced welding skills and be able to pass a 3G and 6G welding test Must demonstrate a mechanical aptitude and the ability to use tools Must be able to read and understand drawings and written instructions. Must have good communication skills. Must have a good attitude, be eager to learn, and willing to work on a team
