The company motto has always been to "Treat others as you would have them treat you" and we are in search of a full time Welder/Fitter in our facility located in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The hours for this position will be Monday to Friday 7am-3:30pm with a half hour lunch.
General Description:
Responsible for performing welding and fitting activities related to fabrication work orders.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Must demonstrate skilled craftsmanship with all welding and fitting activities Ability to test/certify in 3G & 5F positions using various welding processes (FCAW, GMAW, SMAW) Move raw material, work in process, and finished goods into and between work centers Operate hand and power tools to clean finished materials and to complete minor repairs Operate other machinery to complete secondary operations such as drilling, punching, bending, grinding, torch cutting, shearing, flattening, etc. Move finished material onto skids for final packaging Maintain pace with equipment operators to ensure material flows smoothly into and out of individual work centers and prevent back up or delays Read, interpret, and understand the job requirements of each customer order. Communicate with foreman to ensure a complete understanding of all information Use basic measuring tools to maintain quality standards on each order Communicate all pertinent job-related information to foreman daily Report any problems or quality concerns to supervisor immediately Perform other duties as assigned
Skills:
Basic reading and mathematical skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) Ability to lift up to 75 pounds Ability to lift, bend, stoop, squat, stand or walk for extended periods of time Good oral & written communication skills Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with others
Education/Experience:
High School Diploma or Equivalent
AWS D1.1
