Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Structural Welder/Pipe Welder to join our dynamic fabrication team. In this role, you will be responsible for performing precise welding and assembly of structural components and pipe systems in accordance with industry standards and project specifications. Your expertise will ensure the integrity, safety, and durability of metal structures used across various construction and industrial sites. Responsibilities Read and interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and fabrication shop drawings to determine welding requirements and procedures. Perform welding operations using various techniques including Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW), Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW or MIG), Flux-Cored Arc Welding (FCAW), and Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG) welding, adhering to American Welding Society (AWS) standards. Measure and mark materials accurately using calipers, micrometers, measuring instruments, and shop math to ensure precise cuts and welds. Fabricate, assemble, and weld structural steel components, piping systems, and sheet metal parts with attention to detail and quality control. Operate power tools, hand tools, plasma cutters, machining equipment, and perform sheet metal fabrication tasks efficiently and safely. Follow strict safety protocols on construction sites or within fabrication shops to maintain a safe working environment for all team members. Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines while maintaining high standards of craftsmanship and safety compliance. Skills Extensive construction site experience with knowledge of safety procedures and site protocols. Proficiency in blueprint reading, interpreting technical drawings, and mechanical blueprint interpretation. Skilled in multiple welding techniques including
SMAW, GMAW
(MIG), FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), TIG welding, and gas metal arc welding. Strong mechanical knowledge related to metal fabrication, assembly, machining, plasma cutting, and sheet metal fabrication. Ability to use measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, tape measures, and other precision tools accurately. Familiarity with ASME codes & standards as well as AWS standards for welding practices. Experience operating cranes and power tools safely within a fabrication or construction environment. Basic math skills for measurements, calculations related to fabrication shop math, shop math, and basic math concepts necessary for precise work. Mechanical fabrication expertise with a focus on metal materials including steel pipes and sheet metals used in structural applications. Strong understanding of safety protocols related to welding operations, handling of metal materials, machining processes, and use of hand tools.
