Overview We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Structural Welder/Fitter to join our dynamic fabrication team. In this role, you will be responsible for interpreting detailed blueprints and technical drawings, measuring and cutting metal materials, and executing precise welding and fitting tasks to produce high-quality structural components. Your expertise will ensure that all projects meet strict safety standards, adhere to industry codes, and are completed efficiently on time. Responsibilities Read and interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and fabrication shop drawings to determine welding and fitting requirements. Measure, mark, cut, and shape sheet metal and structural steel using hand tools, power tools, plasma cutters, and machining equipment. Perform welding using various techniques including FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding) , MIG (Metal Inert Gas), TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas), Stick (SMAW), and gas metal arc welding to join metal components accurately. Fit fabricated parts together with precision, utilizing calipers, micrometers, measuring instruments, and shop math to ensure proper alignment according to specifications. Assemble structural components securely following ASME codes & standards and AWS (American Welding Society) guidelines while maintaining strict safety protocols. Use fabrication tools such as plasma cutters, power tools, hand tools, and machining equipment to prepare materials for welding or assembly. Maintain a clean work environment by adhering to safety procedures and ensuring all equipment is properly maintained. Requirements Proven construction site experience with a strong understanding of structural welding and fitting processes. Proficiency in reading blueprints, technical drawings, and interpreting mechanical fabrication instructions. Skilled in multiple welding techniques including FCAW, MIG, TIG, SMAW, and gas metal arc welding with certification preferred. Experience with sheet metal fabrication, structural steel assembly, plasma cutting, machining, and use of measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers. Mechanical knowledge of metal materials, fabrication shop operations, ASME codes & standards, and safety protocols. Ability to utilize hand tools, power tools, measuring devices, shop math skills, and basic math calculations accurately. Familiarity with crane operation is a plus; ability to work effectively on construction sites or fabrication shops in various environments. Strong attention to detail with excellent problem-solving skills; committed to quality workmanship and safety compliance.
