We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Welder Level I to join our team. This position is responsible for welding, cutting, and brazing metal components using flame-cutting and hand-welding equipment, ensuring work meets required quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Review work orders, blueprints, and instructions to determine project requirements. Gather necessary tools and materials prior to beginning assignments. Use cutting, burning, and welding equipment to fabricate and repair metal components. Monitor welding and fitting processes to prevent warping, overheating, or other defects. Assemble, position, and tack-weld parts before final welding. Maintain a clean and organized workspace and ensure equipment is in good working condition. Report any defective materials or malfunctioning equipment to the supervisor. Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Abilities:
Strong understanding of welding tools, machines, and maintenance practices. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, plans, and blueprints. Basic knowledge of mathematics relevant to welding assignments. Excellent communication skills and the ability to follow verbal and written instructions. Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity for precision work. MUST have own transportation, no bus route at this location
Education and Experience:
Completion of a formal apprenticeship or successful completion of an in-house, three-year welding training program is required.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to weld in vertical, flat, and overhead positions. Must have the dexterity and physical stability needed for precision tasks. Ability to see details clearly at close range. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds. Capable of climbing, stooping, lifting, walking, and carrying materials as needed.
