SUMMARY:

Fits, and welds fabricated, cast, and forged components to assemble by preforming the following duties. Also, assures parts comply to drawing specifications. This will be for welding aluminum. Monday-Friday 6am-2:45pm, possible overtime. $20/hour+ pending experience. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

include the following: Read blueprints and drawings and take or read measurements to plan layout and proceduresDetermine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirementsSet up components for welding according to specifications (e.g. cut material with powered saws to match measurements)Operate angle grinders to prepare the parts that must be weldedAlign components using calipers, rulers etc. and clamp piecesWeld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions (vertical, horizontal or overhead)Lays out, positions, aligns, and fits components together. Bolts, clamps, and tack-welds parts to secure in position for welding.

Test and inspect welded surfaces and structure to discover flawsRepairs products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, and reassembling parts.

Clean work areaMaintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safetyOther duties may be assigned.

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
