In this role, you will be responsible for constructing, assembling, and repairing metal components and structures with precision and efficiency. Your expertise in welding techniques, blueprint interpretation, and metal fabrication will contribute to delivering high-quality projects across various construction and manufacturing settings. Responsibilities Read and interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and fabrication shop drawings to ensure accurate assembly and welding of metal components. Perform various welding processes including MIG (GMAW), TIG (GTAW), FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), and SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding) according to AWS standards. Fabricate sheet metal, ductwork, and structural steel using hand tools, power tools, plasma cutters, and machining equipment. Measure materials precisely using calipers, micrometers, measuring instruments, and shop math to meet project specifications. Assemble fabricated parts utilizing mechanical knowledge, welding skills, and appropriate fasteners while adhering to safety protocols. Maintain a clean and organized work environment in the fabrication shop or on construction sites to promote safety and efficiency. Follow all safety procedures related to welding operations, machinery use, and handling of metal materials in compliance with OSHA regulations. Requirements Proven experience working on construction sites or in a fabrication shop environment with metal materials. Proficiency in multiple welding techniques including MIG, TIG, FCAW, SMAW, and gas metal arc welding. Ability to read blueprints, technical drawings, and interpret mechanical blueprints accurately. Familiarity with ASME codes & standards as well as AWS standards for welding quality assurance. Strong mechanical knowledge complemented by experience with hand tools, power tools, measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers. Experience working with sheet metal fabrication, ductwork assembly, machining processes, plasma cutting, and metal materials handling. Knowledge of shop math for precise measurements and calculations needed during fabrication tasks. Ability to work safely following all safety protocols related to welding operations and construction site activities. Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to communicate effectively across diverse teams.
