Job Description

M&M Recycling is seeking an experienced Maintenance Welder/Fabricator to join our team at a busy scrap metal recycling facility. This position is responsible for performing after-hours maintenance and repairs on a heavy-duty metal shredder and supporting equipment to ensure maximum uptime and reliability. This is not a production welding job. We are looking for someone who is mechanically inclined, can work independently, and has experience repairing heavy industrial equipment.
Responsibilities:
Perform structural and wear-plate welding on shredder components. Repair conveyors, hoppers, chutes, and heavy steel structures. Replace liners, wear plates, shafts, and other worn components. Fabricate parts as needed to minimize downtime. Read and interpret mechanical drawings and measurements. Inspect equipment and identify potential failures before they occur. Perform cutting, gouging, grinding, and fabrication work. Follow all company safety procedures and OSHA requirements. Maintain a clean and organized work area. Be available for emergency breakdown repairs when necessary,after hours and on weekends.
Qualifications:
Minimum 5 years of industrial welding experience . Experience with MIG, Stick, and Flux-Core welding . Experience repairing heavy equipment, crushers, shredders, mining equipment, or steel mills preferred. Ability to operate oxy-fuel cutting torches, plasma cutters, and air arc gouging equipment. Ability to lift 75+ pounds and work in confined spaces and at heights. Strong mechanical aptitude. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Reliable transportation and excellent attendance.
Preferred Experience:
Scrap metal recycling industry. Industrial maintenance. Conveyor repair. Heavy fabrication. Bearings, shafts, and mechanical repairs. Equipment alignment.
