DUTIES AND
RESPONSIBILITIESKnows and understands all safety rules and precautions necessary for working in and about a manufacturing environmentResponsible for coordination of welder settings, gun speed/travel and gas flow with the observed condition of beadRead a tape measure and blueprints to shop standardDecide when adjustment or gun manipulation needs to be alteredDecide how much and what repairs to make for pin holes and burn-through caused by an auto welderTrain and teach proper welding procedures in accordance with manufacturing job proceduresOperate overhead crane and other lifting equipmentResponsible for holding beads to specified shapes, sizes, and penetrations while maintaining the quality of the productKeeping numerical and alphabetical sequences correctMaintains continuous improvement practices in the work areaMay be assigned other projects and duties as designated by Team LeaderQualificationsAssociates degree or equivalent from a 2-year College or technical school; or (1) to three (3) years working experience in welding; or equivalent combination of education and experience as a welder/fitter in the manufacturing industryRead blueprints and drawingsRead and comprehend documents including but not limited to policy manuals, safety rules/programs, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and simple correspondenceAbility to communicate information effectively one-on-one and in small group situations and settings is requiredPerform general mathematic calculations including but not limited to addition, subtraction, multiplication, fractions, percentages, and division. Required to use power hand toolsRequired to drive a forkliftAbility to work effectively to meet deadlinesRead different measuring devices (i.e. tape measure, protractor, micrometer)Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a continual basis above shoulder height and below the waistAdditional InformationSite Address:
