Job Title:
TIG Welder Job Description This role focuses on TIG and MIG welding in a production environment, including manual and fixture welding of metal components. You will read and interpret blueprints and weld symbols, set up and operate welding equipment, and ensure that welded parts meet quality and dimensional specifications. The position involves hands-on work with stainless steel tubes and requires strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality. Responsibilities Read blueprints, work orders, and job instructions to understand project requirements and welding specifications. Set up and operate TIG and MIG welding equipment safely and efficiently in a production environment. Weld, fit, and assemble metal components to meet project and quality specifications. Work from drawings and weld symbols to complete projects accurately and on time. Inspect finished parts and welds for quality, dimensional accuracy, and adherence to company standards. Position, align, and secure parts using tables, fixtures, clamps, and other shop equipment. Perform minor adjustments to improve fit, alignment, and overall weld quality. Use grinders, drills, saws, and other shop tools to support welding and fabrication tasks. Complete finishing work such as grinding, cleanup, and touch-up welding to produce a clean final product. Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work area. Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production goals and deadlines. Be willing to work overtime when needed to support production demands. Essential Skills Hands-on TIG welding experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or educational setting. Hands-on MIG welding experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or educational setting. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and work instructions. Comfort using measuring tools and performing basic math and measurements. Understanding of common weld defects and how to prevent or correct them. Experience working with welding equipment, hand tools, and shop machinery. Ability to pass any required weld tests or qualifications. Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Willingness to work overtime when needed. Additional Skills & Qualifications Welding certification, formal training, trade school experience, or equivalent hands-on experience is a plus. High school diploma or GED is preferred. Experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment. Comfort working with stainless steel tubing, including bending, forming, and cutting. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $34.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
