Core Pay:
$19.00+, hourly (+progressive wage increases every 4 months & benefits start on day ONE of employment, +wage increases as skills increase!) Innovation is the heart of Brunswick. See how your contributions will help transform vision into reality: Weld Assist / Welder-in-Training is an entry-level role for individuals interested in building a career in aluminum MIG and TIG welding. In this position, you'll support experienced welders by preparing materials, assisting with fabrication tasks, and learning welding techniques through hands-on training and mentorship. No prior welding experience is required, but a strong desire to learn a skilled trade and grow within a manufacturing environment is essential. As welding skills and competencies increase, employees have opportunities for pay increases and advancement into a welder role. Welding classes are held outside of operating hours for 3-6 weeks & must be able to pass final welding test in order to be promoted to Welder. Essential Functions:
Must possess the desire and ambition to work safely at all times, and report all hazards to their Supervisor immediately Ability to understand and follow Standard Operating Procedures, Work Instructions, and Engineering Prints Visually inspect and/or audit units for quality. Discuss quality issues with lead or supervisor to resolve problems. Use a variety of electric and pneumatic hand tools Seek positive solutions to issues and problems Must be able to complete work within takt time Keep work area clean and organized Maintain a high standard of conduct and comply with company policies and procedures Perform other duties as assigned Diversity of thought and experiences is fundamental when imagining the unimaginable. Certain skillsets/experiences are necessary; however, others can be developed along the way. Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment where designated, including but not limited to: safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, sleeves, etc. Must be flexible to work extended hours to support the requirements of the business Experience using basic hand and small power tools including drill, saws, sanders, measuring tape, level, etc. Must be able to read a blueprint Previous manufacturing and/or machinery experience preferred Must be able to communicate and work in a team environment Demonstrate basic computer skills The anticipated pay range for this position is $19.00 - $21.00, hourly. The actual base pay offered will vary depending on multiple factors including job-related knowledge/skills, relevant experience, business needs, and geographic location. At Brunswick, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top end of the salary range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent upon the specifics of the candidate's qualifications and the business context. Physical Demands/Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently standing and lifting heavy objects weighing 50 to 100 pounds. The employee is constantly walking, pushing/pulling, reaching, and climbing stairs. The employee is occasionally squatting, kneeling, and using fine hand movements such as tightening screws, bolts, and securing pins. Specific vision requirements include close vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus. Environmental demands include working both indoors and outdoors and is seasonally exposed to extreme temperatures.
