The Welder Class 2 is responsible for performing advanced welding tasks in support of manufacturing and production operations. This role requires the ability to interpret technical drawings, execute complex welds with precision, and ensure all work meets quality and safety standards. The Welder Class 2 supports continuous production operations, mentors junior welders, and collaborates with engineering and fabrication teams to resolve technical challenges.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Read and interpret advanced blueprints and technical drawings to determine welding requirements Perform specialized welding techniques including TIG, MIG, and spot welding on various metals such as aluminum, stainless steel, and alloys Adjust welding machines and equipment settings according to project and material specifications Prepare and clean metal surfaces prior to welding to ensure strong, high-quality welds Execute complex welding projects requiring high precision and attention to detail Inspect welded components and structures to identify defects or weaknesses Use advanced measuring tools to verify alignment and dimensional accuracy Collaborate with engineering and design teams to troubleshoot fabrication challenges Follow strict safety protocols when operating welding equipment and handling hazardous materials Document welding procedures, results, and techniques for compliance and quality control Participate in training to maintain current knowledge of welding techniques and safety standards Mentor and guide Class 1 welders to strengthen team performance Maintain and perform basic repairs on welding equipment to ensure operational readiness Manage inventory of welding supplies, including gases and electrodes Respond to production line calls to provide timely welding support and minimize downtime Demonstrate strong problem-solving, customer service, interpersonal, and communication skills Perform any additional duties as assigned by management
QUALIFICATIONS 18
years of age or older Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment. Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language, including technical documents Must have reliable transportation Proven experience in advanced welding techniques Ability to operate and adjust welding machinery safely and effectively Strong attention to detail and precision Ability to use electronic devices including tablets, computers, and mobile devices as required Pass a background check and drug screen Eligibility to acquire needed credentials and clearances (FAA, RAIC, TSA, Port Authority, U.S. Customs and U.S. Postal- as applicable).
