Hiring Agency Justice & Public Safety Cabinet | Department of Corrections Location 200 Road To Justice West Liberty, KY 41472 USA Description The Kentucky Department of Corrections (DOC), Division of Adult Institutions operates correctional facilities that house Kentucky's adult inmate population. The mission of DOC is to protect the citizens of the Commonwealth and to provide a safe, secure and humane environment for staff and offenders in carrying out the mandates of the legislative and judicial processes; and, to provide opportunities for offenders to acquire skills, which facilitate non-criminal behavior. The Department of Corrections is currently seeking a Welder to work in the fast paced, professional environment of the Eastern Kentucky Correctional Complex.
Key Responsibilities may include:
Supervise maintenance inmates Maintenance, repair and fabrication of assorted equipment. Working on projects and ensuring the safety and security of the facility. Maintain records and inventory for operations. Minimum Requirements
EDUCATION
High school graduate
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS
Two years of welding, welding technology, or welding fabrication experience. Substitute

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
(AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.): Must be 18 years of age. Working Conditions Typical working conditions for a specific position may be listed on the individual position description. Probationary Period This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in
KRS 18A.111.
