Position Summary CMC is building the piping crew for a large data center construction project in the Alexandria, Louisiana area, and we are hiring TIG Pipe Welders now, ahead of the project start. The work is heavy mechanical piping: chilled water, condenser water, process cooling, and hydronic systems on carbon steel and stainless pipe, built to a data center schedule and a data center quality standard. You will weld out joints that our fitters set, prepare and purge your own joints, and hold weld quality to project specifications. Journeyman-level TIG welders who can pass a weld test are the priority. If you also fit, tell us; we are hiring pipefitters for this project under a separate posting. Pipe Welding - Responsibilities Weld out pipe joints to project specifications and applicable codes Weld carbon steel and stainless steel pipe; TIG (GTAW) is the primary process on this project, with stick (SMAW) and MIG (GMAW) as the work requires Prepare joints, including fit-up, beveling, cleaning, and purging as required Read and interpret piping isometrics, weld maps, and specifications to identify joint type, material, and required process Support weld quality and material traceability requirements and coordinate with Quality Control personnel Take and pass a weld test (coupon test) as required by the project before assignment to welded work Assist the pipefitting crew with fabrication, hanging, and hydrostatic testing when not welding Inspect the work area daily to identify obstructions and safety issues, and control those issues Coordinate with other crafts on the project to eliminate obstructions and keep the work moving Qualifications High school diploma or GED required Technical school training in welding or pipefitting preferred

Journeyman Pipe Welder:

3 or more years of pipe welding experience with TIG (GTAW) on carbon steel and stainless pipe Must be able to pass a TIG weld test (coupon test) before assignment to welded work Ability to read and interpret piping isometrics, weld maps, fabrication drawings, and specifications Basic math skills and the ability to read a tape measure accurately Ability to work productively alongside other trades on an active jobsite Dependable attendance and a safety-first mindset Valid driver's license required Preferred Certifications Current welding certifications (TIG / GTAW; stick / SMAW and
