This is for an oil & gas related company. The ideal candidate would have welding experience within fabrication and include stick, Mig, Tig, Stick and Torch. Preferred experience in carbide welding. Monday-Friday 7:00 AM-4:00 PM ... Occasional On-Call over weekends, rotation. OT available $19-25/hr
DOE Responsibilities:
  • Blueprint Reading & Interpretation:
    Reviewing technical drawings, weld symbols, and specifications to understand the layout and required weld types.
  • Material Preparation:
    Cutting, grinding, and cleaning metal pieces (steel, aluminum, stainless) to ensure proper fit-up and weld integrity.
  • Precision Welding:
    Utilizing various processes, Most commonly MIG, TIG, Stick, and Torch to fuse metals according to industry standards.
  • Fitting and Tacking:
    Using clamps, jigs, and fixtures to align components before performing the final "bead" to ensure the structure is square and true.
  • Quality Control:
    Inspecting welds for defects like porosity, undercut, or cracks, and using measuring tools (calipers, squares) to verify dimensions.
Equipment Maintenance:
Performing routine checks on welding machines, torches, and gas regulators to ensure safety and performance.
Working hours:
7:00 AM
  • 4:00
PM Skills:
  • Carbide welding experience is a definite plus
  • Completion of a vocational welding program is highly preferred.
Education:
High School Experience:
4-7 years
Qualifications:
  • At least 3 years of welding experience with high proficiency
  • Fabrication welding experience
  • Stick, Mig, Tig, Torch experience
  • Operation of grinders, band saws, plasma cutters, and drill presses.
  • Basic geometry and trigonometry for calculating angles and material lengths.
