Job Summary:
The Welder is responsible for performing precision welding tasks to fabricate and repair metal components and assemblies according to specifications. This role requires technical expertise, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders to determine project requirements. Set up welding equipment and tools based on the type of weld required. Perform various welding techniques, such as MIG, TIG, and arc welding, to join metal components accurately. Inspect welds to ensure they meet quality standards and make necessary adjustments for precision. Prepare metal surfaces by cleaning, grinding, or cutting to ensure proper weld joints. Repair or replace damaged metal components and assemblies as needed. Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of welding equipment to maintain peak performance. Collaborate with team members to meet production schedules and project deadlines. Adhere to workplace safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Maintain a clean and organized work area to promote a safe and efficient working environment.
Requirements:
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent (certifications in welding preferred). 2+ years of experience in welding, preferably in a manufacturing or construction setting. Proficiency in various welding techniques and metalworking tools. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings. Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work. Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Physical and Environmental Requirements:
Frequent standing, kneeling, and bending during welding tasks. Lifting and moving materials up to 50 pounds regularly. Regular exposure to noise, heat, and sparks in a manufacturing environment. Ability to wear required protective gear, such as welding helmets, gloves, and steel-toed boots.
