Job Summary Unite Contracting is seeking a highly skilled TIG Pipe Welder to join our fabrication and construction team. These TIG pipe welding jobs are permanent with overtime. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience welding stainless steel, carbon steel, and other metals using the Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG) process. This role involves precise pipe welding on construction sites and in fabrication shops, ensuring high-quality workmanship in accordance with industry standards. Key Responsibilities:

Perform TIG welding on pipes and metal components following detailed blueprints and technical drawings Interpret mechanical blueprints and fabrication shop drawings to ensure accurate assembly Use measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and other precision tools to verify dimensions Prepare materials through plasma cutting, machining, and grinding to meet project specifications Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to safety protocols and utilizing proper personal protective equipment Operate power tools, hand tools, and welding equipment, including TIG pipe welding, gas metal arc welding (GMAW), shielded metal arc welding (SMAW), flux-cored arc welding (FCAW), and stick welding Collaborate with team members on assembly, fabrication, and installation tasks on construction sites Ensure all welds meet American Welding Society (AWS) standards for quality and safety Conduct quality inspections of TIG pipe welds using non-destructive testing methods when necessary Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used for project documentation

Skills:

Proven experience in construction site welding, fabrication shop work, or manufacturing environments Proficiency in TIG pipe welding techniques for pipe and sheet metal applications Strong knowledge of blueprint reading, technical drawings, and mechanical blueprint interpretation Familiarity with shop math, basic math skills, and measurement instruments such as calipers and micrometers Experience with TIG pipe welding, MIG welding (GMAW), SMAW (stick welding), FCAW (flux-cored arc welding), and plasma cutting Mechanical knowledge related to metal fabrication, ductwork, machining, and assembly processes Ability to operate power tools, hand tools, measuring instruments, and welding equipment safely Understanding of safety protocols relevant to construction sites and fabrication shops Knowledge of AWS standards for weld quality assurance Effective communication skills for collaborating with team members across different disciplines This TIG pipe welding position offers an opportunity to work on challenging projects that demand precision craftsmanship.
