Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and motivated Commercial/Residential Awning Fabricator/Welder to join our dynamic fabrication team. In this role, you will be responsible for constructing, welding, and assembling high-quality welded aluminum awnings and metal structures for both commercial and residential clients. Your expertise in metal fabrication, welding techniques, and blueprint interpretation will ensure the delivery of durable, aesthetically pleasing products that meet safety standards and client specifications. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with a variety of materials and tools in a fast-paced, safety-conscious environment dedicated to craftsmanship and excellence. Duties Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and fabrication shop drawings to accurately produce awnings, canopies and related structures. Use measuring instruments such as calipers and shop math skills to ensure precise cuts and fits of sheet metal and other materials. Operate power tools, hand tools, and machining equipment to cut, shape, and assemble sheet metal components. Perform welding using various techniques including MIG (Metal Inert Gas), TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas), and gas metal arc welding in accordance with AWS (American Welding Society) standards. Fabricate metal components by cutting, bending, welding, grinding, and assembling parts to meet project specifications. Maintain strict adherence to safety protocols during all phases of fabrication and welding processes to ensure a safe working environment. Collaborate with team members on construction site projects or shop fabrication tasks to meet deadlines and quality standards. Inspect finished products for quality control using measuring instruments and visual checks, making adjustments as needed for precision. Experience Proven experience in metal fabrication or welding within a manufacturing or construction environment is required. Hands-on knowledge of sheet metal fabrication, ductwork, mechanical fabrication, and assembly processes. Familiarity with interpreting drawings, and shop math is essential for accurate production. Demonstrated ability to operate welding equipment including MIG, TIG, and gas metal arc welding according to AWS standards. Experience working on construction sites or in fabrication shops involving construction or mechanical projects is highly preferred. Strong understanding of safety protocols related to welding, machining, handling metals, power tools, and heavy equipment such as cranes. Mechanical knowledge combined with the ability to use measuring instruments like calipers and micrometers confidently.
