Precision Metal Fabrication Specialist Pay:
$18.00-$25.00/hour DOE |
Location:
Bossier City or Shreveport, LA Employment Type:
Full-Time |
Schedule:
Monday-Friday; schedule may vary depending on location and job assignment Position Purpose Combine expert welding with hands-on fabrication to turn drawings into accurate, production-ready parts while keeping safety and quality front and center. Key Deliverables Build, fit, assemble, and weld per blueprints, fabrication drawings, work orders, and production specs. Use the most effective welding process (MIG, TIG, or Stick) for each project.
Stage materials:
measure, cut, grind, drill, fit, change wire, and swap gas tanks. Interpret technical drawings and fabrication specifications with precision. Verify dimensions using tape measures, calipers, micrometers, and gauges. Operate welding/fabrication machinery, hand tools, and power tools safely. Conduct first-article and final inspections for accuracy and weld quality.
Assist with material handling:
loading, unloading, and staging. Identify equipment issues; perform basic maintenance and adjustments. Ensure proper setups and that all required safety devices and PPE are used. Maintain a clean, organized, hazard-free work cell. Adhere to company safety procedures, quality standards, and production targets. Handle other related duties as assigned. Required Background Prior welding plus fabrication or manufacturing experience. Blueprint/drawing reading and interpretation proficiency. Accurate tape measure reading and use of precision measuring instruments. Demonstrated skill with welding/fab equipment, hand, and power tools. Strong mechanical aptitude; detail-driven mindset. Forklift experience preferred. Ability to assess quality and dimensional conformity. Independent contributor who collaborates well; reliable attendance and strong work ethic.
Comfort with physically demanding work:
standing, bending, lifting for the full shift. Ability to work in hot, noisy, or dusty manufacturing/fabrication environments.
