Description Tradesmen International is immediately hiring experienced Structural Fitters for projects located in the Shreveport, LA area . This is a first shift opportunity, and the pay rate is $35/hour based on experience plus $100/day per diem for Travelers 60+ miles from the job site. Job Scope:
Position, align, fit, and weld parts to form complete units or subunits using jigs, welding torches, and hand tools Verify conformance of work pieces to specifications using squares, rulers, and measuring tapes Align & fit parts according to specifications using jacks, clamps, ropes, or bolt straps in position for welding or riveting Analyze engineering drawings and blueprints to determine material requirements and task sequences Move parts into position by hand or utilizing cranes and hoists Setup and operate fabricating devices such as brakes, rolls, shears, flame cutters, grinders, drill presses to bend cut form punch drill or otherwise form and assemble metal components Hammer chip and grind workpieces to cut bend and straighten metal Mark reference points onto floors or face blocks and transpose them to workpieces using measuring devices, squares, chalk and/or soapstone Remove high spots and cut bevels using hand files ,portable grinders, and cutting torches Coordinate with welders to build up low spots or short pieces with welding Performs other duties as assigned Requirements 1+ year fitting experience Highschool diploma/ GED or equivalent Crane experience " Be Safe" from fraud!
