What You'll Do:

Assist senior welders in setting up equipment, preparing weld surfaces (cleaning, grinding, cutting), and positioning materials. Under supervision, perform basic welding functions using common techniques such as MIG (GMAW), TIG (GTAW), and Stick (SMAW) on various metals (e.g., carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminum). Learn to read and interpret basic blueprints, technical diagrams, and specifications to determine welding requirements and procedures. Clean and maintain welding equipment, tools, and work areas daily to ensure safe and efficient operation. Cut and grind metal pieces to ensure proper fit and remove excess weld, slag, or spatter using hand and power tools. Adhere to all company and OSHA safety guidelines, wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times, and attend mandatory safety training sessions. Inspect workpieces for defects and measure finished products to ensure they meet specifications.

What We're Looking For:

High School Diploma or GED equivalent, or currently enrolled in school. Strong desire to learn the welding trade and a willingness to commit to a multi-year apprenticeship or training program Previous technical training, vocational school coursework, or a certification in welding is a plus. Basic understanding of shop math (measurements, fractions, geometry). Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds frequently and stand for long periods Prior experience with basic hand tools and power tools (e.g., grinders, power saws).
