Job Description
A Welder/Fabricator provides metalworking skills to the formation of metal products for Lyman Morse Workboats. He/she ensures safe working practices are employed and maintained whilst working in the shop or in the field, ensuring that the company and customers' needs are satisfied in an efficient and professional manner. Key Responsibilities Be able to read and comprehend construction drawings, welding symbols, and specifications. Ensure that all material is properly tracked and recorded. Take care of all assigned tools and equipment. Promote safe working practices and adhere to company safety procedures. Maintain an awareness of the project schedule and elevate potential problems to Shop Foreman. Adhere to work instructions and report to the QC Systems Manager at hold points or for any quality-related concerns. Take good care of LM equipment and alert management if anything is damaged or defective. Be an advocate for Lyman-Morse and be mindful of sales opportunities. Other duties as assigned by the shop foreman and/or LMF Operations Manager Recommended Experience 1-year minimum welding and fabrication experience. Experience in heavy industrial environments. Operation of metal forming and cutting machinery. Forklifts, overhead cranes, and other types of heavy equipment. Experience in health and safety procedures/policies. Experience with rigging and lifting operations. Experience with lockout/tagout procedures. Required Educational Experience High school diploma or equivalent. Associate's or higher degree desirable. AWS welding certifications desirable.
