Train on First Shift (Monday through Friday, 7:00am to 3:30pm) then transition to Second Shift (Monday through Thursday, 3:00pm to 1:30am).

JOB DESCRIPTION

Summary/Objective Coordinate with First Shift supervisor to lead Second Shift Welders. Welder position safely performs standard fixture setup, welding, grinding, and buffing for a variety of organizational manufacturing needs. This position requires the ability to plan and perform diversified tasks for shorter production runs. Projects will be more complex in nature. Essential Functions Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. 1. Perform typical welding operations per prints. 2. Select proper welding locations, and proper fixtures. 3. Make proper set-ups for welding operations. 4. Perform prescribed maintenance as required. 5. Perform all dimensional inspections. 6. Detect and report defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor. 7. Familiar with proper use procedures using different types of Cranes, Hand Grinder, Portable Plasma Cutter, Cutting Torch, Turntable, etc. Competencies 1. Ability to read/understand blueprints and basic GD&T. 2. Teamwork Orientation. 3. Time Management. 4. Results Driven. 5. Communication Proficiency. Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, and crouching all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items weighing 50 pounds.
