Job Description
Lapeer-based manufacturer is seeking Skilled and Experienced Welders to join their growing team. We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Welder/Fabricator/Fitter to join our client's manufacturing team. This is a 1st shift position, Monday-Friday, 6AM-2:30PM.
Perform MIG (GMAW), TIG (GTAW) welding on various materials including sheet metal, aluminum, stainless steel and armor components. Per AWS specifications.
Use hand tools, power toolsOperate rigging equipment such as cranes and forklifts to move heavy materials safely around the worksite or shop floor.
Measure dimensions accurately using calipers, micrometers, and other precision tools to ensure proper fit and alignment.
Follow ASME codes & standards during fabrication processes to ensure quality and safety compliance.
Maintain a clean work environment by adhering to safety protocols and proper tool maintenance practices.
Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently while adhering to deadlines.
RequirementsProven experience in Welding and Fabrication environments or manufacturing facilities involving structural steel and multi material fabrications.
Proficiency in MIG welding, TIG welding techniques.
Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately.
Familiarity with hand tools, power tools.
Mechanical knowledge of rigging operations including crane handling and forklift operation.
Basic math skills for measurements and calculations necessary for fabrication tasks.
Strong understanding of ASME codes & standards related to welding and fabrication processes.
Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment with safety as a priority.
Physical capability to lift heavy materials and stand for extended periods during project execution. This position is ideal for candidates who are detail-oriented professionals committed to quality craftsmanship in industrial fabrication projects.
