Welder Job Summary Responsible for production needs as appropriate for assignment. Essential Functions and Responsibilities Responsible for actively supporting continuous improvement initiatives of the facility Read and evaluate drawings Determine correct material Operate MIG Welder and hoist Adjust all equipment and material as needed including but not limited to the wire and welder Measure parts and assure that measurements are correct and visually inspect parts Assure that a quality penetration has occurred on all welds Move, count and tag completed parts to appropriate areas Complete daily production logs indicating all required information including put not limited to down time, set up periods, counts, etc. Complete hoist and/or other equipment inspections daily as required Accurately complete 1st piece inspections Band material with a manual or electric bander when needed Assist other departments when needed Must adhere to all safety and environmental policies Maintain general housekeeping and orderly work area(s) Maintain regular, reliable and punctual attendance at the worksite for the duration of scheduled shifts, including mandatory overtime Understand and comply with all company policies, procedures, rules and standards Maintain professional, cooperative, respectful and ethical conduct when interacting with coworkers, customers, vendors and the public Meet established productivity, quality, accuracy and performance standards while completing assigned work in a timely manner Effectively and consistently support the company mission, vision and values Responsible for all other duties, procedures and instructions as required by the job function, or as assigned, to meet organizational needs Qualifications Education and Experience High School Diploma or GED preferred Skills and Abilities Requires the ability to read & write Must be able to accurately read a tape measure Ability to successfully pass a written exam and physical observation test for an Industrial Truck Permit The ability to adjust to changing job functions Capable of working well with co-workers of different cultural backgrounds Certifications or Licenses None Working Conditions This position primarily operates in a manufacturing environment where exposure to loud noises, machinery, and varying temperatures is common. Employees may also be exposed to dust, fumes, and other airborne particles. Personal protective equipment (PPE) will be provided and must be worn as required.
