• Time Hourly South Haven, MI Spencer Manufacturing is currently seeking a Welder to join our team on the lakeshore in South Haven, MI to help build highly customized and extremely reliable fire trucks.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Read and interpret blueprints
• Perform MIG/TIG welding of stainless steel, steel and aluminum
• Drill and tap components accurately
• Bend and shear components
• Cut, clean, and prep your own parts
• Operate forklifts and overhead cranes safely
• Perform surface preparation using plasma torches and grinders as needed
• Read a tape measure and accurately square up parts
• Demonstrate excellent attention to detail and the ability to work effectively under pressure while meeting strict deadlines.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
• Work occasional overtime as needed

Job Requirements :

• Strong work ethic with a willingness to learn and continuously improve
• Mechanical skills and experience are preferred
• Ability to read and interpret basic blueprints and engineering drawings
• Strong attention to detail
• Effective problem-solving skills
• Good time management skills and ability to prioritize tasks
• Ability to communicate effectively
• Forklift experience is a plus
• Valid driver's license and/or reliable transportation to and from work

Schedule:

• Monday through Friday
• 7:00am
• 3:30pm
• Paid 15-minute break at 9:00am
• Unpaid lunch break 11:45am
• 12:15pm
