10:45pm-7:15am (Start at 9 PM when there is OT) About the Opportunity nVent is seeking motivated individuals to join their manufacturing team as a Polisher & Buffer . This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for mechanically inclined individuals looking to build a long-term career in manufacturing, fabrication, and welding. Employees begin in grinding and polishing operations and have opportunities to cross-train into fabrication, welding, assembly, paint, and packaging departments. Job Responsibilities Grind and polish metal components using hand grinders to remove weld marks and create a smooth, high-quality finish. Inspect parts for quality and ensure finished products meet production standards. Read and use tape measures accurately to cut material to specified lengths. Assist with basic fabrication processes including brake press operation, spot welding, buffing, and racking parts for paint. Utilize hand and power tools safely and effectively. Support assembly, packaging, paint, and other production departments as needed. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. Follow work instructions, production schedules, and safety procedures. Cross-train in various manufacturing operations to support production needs. Required Qualifications Minimum of 6 months of manufacturing, production, or related experience. Ability to accurately read a tape measure and perform basic shop math. Experience using hand and power tools. Mechanical aptitude demonstrated through work experience, technical training, school programs, or hobbies. Comfortable performing hands-on, physical work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Reliable attendance and strong work ethic. Preferred Qualifications Experience with sheet metal fabrication, grinding, polishing, or welding. Shop class experience in welding, automotive, woodworking, machining, or metalworking. Exposure to brake presses, spot welders, or fabrication equipment. Desire to learn new skills and grow within a manufacturing career. What nVent Is Looking For Successful candidates will: Be comfortable working with grinders and polishing equipment. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.50 - $22.75/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
