About Our Client:

Our client is a long-established Minnesota company with metal fabrication and machining operations in Loretto. Their fabrication team produces structural metal products, including bridge and highway railing systems, with a strong focus on quality workmanship, durability, and safety.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled MIG Welder to join a fabrication team in Loretto, MN. This position is responsible for welding mild steel components used in bridge and highway railing systems while maintaining established quality and safety standards. The ideal candidate can produce clean, consistent welds and takes pride in quality workmanship. Previous MIG welding experience is preferred, although entry-level candidates with strong welding skills and a willingness to learn will be considered.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform MIG and Flux Core welding on mild steel components. Produce clean, consistent weld beads according to specifications. Weld structural components used in bridge and highway railing systems. Inspect completed welds for strength, accuracy, and overall quality. Identify and correct basic weld defects as needed. Follow work instructions and production specifications. Assist with positioning and handling materials throughout the fabrication process. Operate a forklift occasionally as needed; training will be provided. Maintain welding equipment, tools, and work areas in safe working condition. Maintain a clean and organized fabrication area. Follow all shop safety procedures and PPE requirements. Assist with additional fabrication and production responsibilities as needed.

Qualifications:

Previous MIG welding experience preferred; entry-level candidates with applicable welding skills will be considered. Experience with Flux Core welding preferred. Ability to produce clean, consistent, quality welds. Basic understanding of welding and metal fabrication processes. Ability to read and follow basic work instructions and specifications. Must provide own welding helmet. Steel-toe boots required. Forklift experience is a plus but not required; training will be provided. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship. Dependable, punctual, and team-oriented. Ability to stand for extended periods throughout the workday. Ability to lift and handle materials weighing up to 50 pounds. Ability to frequently bend, reach, lift, and perform repetitive movements.

Working Conditions:

Metal fabrication and manufacturing shop environment. Regular exposure to welding equipment, sparks, heat, metal materials, machinery, and typical shop noise. Fast-paced production environment requiring consistent attention to quality and safety. Appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including welding protection and steel-toe boots, is required. Must consistently follow established welding, fabrication, and workplace safety procedures.
