Job Description
Welder (Stainless Steel MIG) -
Direct Employment Schedule:
1st Shift Key Responsibilities Perform MIG welding on stainless steel and mild steel components. Fabricate custom fertilizer industry equipment from blueprints and specifications. Read and interpret blueprints, welding symbols, and fabrication drawings. Weld sheet metal, pipe, plate, and structural components. Complete welds in flat, vertical, and overhead positions. Inspect finished welds to ensure quality, accuracy, and structural integrity. Work in and around tanks and confined spaces when required. Safely handle materials, tools, and fabrication equipment. Required Qualifications Previous MIG welding experience, preferably with stainless steel. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and welding drawings. Experience welding sheet metal, pipe, plate, and structural steel components. Knowledge of flux-core and hardwire welding processes. Welding certification, technical diploma, or equivalent hands-on experience preferred. Ability to lift 50+ lbs. Comfortable working in confined spaces and around tanks. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship. Work Environment Custom fabrication shop focused on fertilizer industry equipment. Variety of projects with minimal repetitive production work. Team-oriented and relaxed work atmosphere. Work includes fabrication, welding, fitting, and assembly of large industrial equipment. Occasional work in confined spaces and around large tanks. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Norwood Young America, MN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
