Job Description

Position Summary:
The Welder is responsible for weld preparation and set-up, welding and finishing operations to ensure quality parts are produced to print, within established production standards.
Day Shift:
Monday-Thursday 6:00am-4:00pm
Job Skills and Knowledge:
  • Proficient in assigned welding techniques, may include MIG, TIG and spot.
  • Knowledge of wire and filler materials specific to metals being welded.
  • Ability to read blueprints and interpret bills of materials and routings.
  • Must be reliable, cooperative, with high attention to detail, and work well independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to prioritize work and respond accordingly to the demands of various departments in order to keep production flowing.
  • Participate in a culture of mutual trust and respect, with teamwork and accountability to each other and to organization goals.
Key Job Requirements and Responsibilities:
  • Welding preparation and set up, including fixturing.
  • Application and product specific welding techniques, including Lincoln Welders (35 wire and 45 wire).
  • Finish grinding or other finishing operations.
  • Examine and inspect finished parts with a variety of precision and inspection measuring instruments, recognize non-conforming parts.
  • Welding equipment maintenance.

Education and Experience Requirements:
Technical training or welding certification, or welding experience of 1 year. Must have experience in MIG welding and reading a blueprint. Manufacturing experience preferred. Must pass Gandy Company's internal welding test.
Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods of standing, bending, and kneeling.
  • Ability to lift and manipulate heavy material, equipment, and tools.
  • Must have excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity to operate welding equipment, manipulate welding torches, and filler materials.
Job Type:
Full-time Pay:
$22.00 - $25.00 per hour
