Welder•Class A Shift Availability:
1st Shift, 2nd Shift and Weekend Shift Available!Summary :
Welding of metal components and assemblies using various techniques. Operate welding machines in a productive and safe manner to product parts that meet DSI quality requirements at the lowest cost in a timely manner while minimizing waste of materials and resources. As a level A welder, a higher level of responsibility is given to ensure products are completed in a timely and accurate fashion as well as an involvement with your team in a positive and productive manner.Responsibilities and duties include:
Must approach all tasks and daily activities with a positive attitude and morale May be asked to help instruct class B welders on various welding techniques Able to weld more complex parts and create complex fixturing for jobs Follow required procedures and use appropriate jigs and fixtures to assist in the assembly process Will be using Laser, Mig and Tig welding methods to complete projects Identify opportunities for improving welding area Continuously look for and seek out any continuous improvements that may be made in the department Accountability for following DSI's written quality procedures. Provide accurate inventory counts at all time and keep parts in appropriate parts storage areas. Recognize problem processes and recommend alternatives. Able to weld on various metals with little or no supervision Perform basic maintenance of machines as required and keep supervisors informed of necessary maintenance beyond minimal operator ability. Must read and understand layouts, job packets and blue prints for parts being fabricated, even if it is a repeat job. This includes understanding of dimensions and tolerances of finished parts. Other duties as assigned.Education or Certifications:
High School diploma or equivalent Two year degree in welding trade school and 3-5 years in a welding position. May be a combination of schooling and education.Skills/Abilities/Competencies:
Analyze plans, blue prints or drawings to determine work requirements, sequence of welding assignments and direct others on the operation Optimize welding process to ensure daily goals and production is met Take on additional tasks to help the team achieve desired goals with little or no supervision. The "go to person" for complex and difficult parts. Ability to perform a sequence of operations without supervision and consistently maintain the performance levels set for quality and quantity. Understanding of safety rules and regulations to prevent unsafe set-ups, operations, or acts which might cause injury to self, others, environment or equipment. Proactively engage in a working relationship with other members of the team Ability to work through daily operational activities Ability to plan effectively and execute the plansJob Type:
